An online battle royale game involving crabs
King of Crabs is a battle royale game in which the player takes control of a crab. The pay-to-win game takes place in an open world where the player is free to run around and explore, but they will be doing so with many other crab players attempting to fight them.
Being a battle royale game, King of Crabs will naturally draw comparisons to games like PUBG. However, the cartoon tone and visuals of the game make Fortnite a more apt game to compare it to.
Become a crab
As a core game concept, King of Crabs doesn’t do much that most players won’t have already seen. That’s except, of course, for allowing the player to become a crab. The game puts the player in full control of a crab with the goal of becoming the king crab. There are a number of crabs to collect, as well as upgrades and customizations to add to them.
A battle royale game
Beyond the crab aspect of the game, King of Crabs is a pretty routine battle royale game. The player is dropped into the game world with up to 100 other players, all of which have the same goal of being the last crab standing. The exception to this is team modes. Players can scrap and scavenge to help them on their quest to be the king.
An interesting concept with a big flaw
The idea of playing as a crab in a battle royale game is an interesting one, and the execution of the gameplay in King of Crabs is solid. Unfortunately, the game suffers somewhat from being a pay-to-win game, allowing players to gain an advantage by paying for premium extras.
